VALDIDENTRO AND SURROUNDINGS

Valdidentro is a skiing village situated in the heart of the Alps, only 7km from Bormio and 25km from Livigno (duty free zone).

Valdidentro, characterized by its mountain traditions and environment, is the ideal solution for a relaxing holiday, surrounded by nature and far from the noise of the city. Only a few kilometers from Engadina where the famous locality of St Moritz is situated ( about 100km) and the famous Bernina Express belonging to the UNESCO heritage.

What makes it the pearl of the Alps are the two thermal/Spa centres of excellence – Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi – found in the heart of the Stelvio National Park and at the foot of the renowned Stelvio Pass, the highest passable road in Europe where it is possible to admire unique flora and fauna.

WINTER ACTIVITIES

During winter Valdidentro is a small paradise for skiers, with the ski areas of Cima Piazzi Happy Mountain and Oga-S. Colombano which offer 30 km of perfect snow-covered ski runs with the possibility to live a unique experience suitable for everyone.

Alpine and Nordic skiing, snowboarding and ski mountaineering are only a few of the winter activities. Valdidentro, in fact, offers numerous activities to those who do not love skiing; it is possible to hike with snowshoes in the woods that surround the town, go ice-skating or sledging, letting yourself be towed by some beautiful Husky dogs comfortably seated on the sled.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES

In the summer the call of the mountains certainly does not leave us indifferent and Valdidentro stands out as a starting point for numerous and fascinating excursions both on foot and by mountain bike to reach one of the many refuges in the area.

It offers the possibility for mountain lovers to climb also important peaks like those of the Ortles-Cevedale Group or to practice rock climbing.

Valdidentro is also optimal as a starting point for cyclists who want to climb one of the many mountain passes made known by the feats of Fausto Coppi and other famous cyclists (Passo Gavia, Passo Stelvio, Aprica and Mortirolo).

It is possible to play golf (9-hole course 10km away by car), take part in bocce tournaments, play soccer, swim at Bormio Terme and summer skiing at the Stelvio Pass.

Valdidentro is also a family-friendly valley, with a long cycle-pedestrian path that can easily be walked on with strollers.
